I should know as I missed it and still regret it today!!!!

Every mum-to-be is amazing! How miraculous is the job you are doing...growing new life and bringing them into the world. But as soon as your beautiful baby arrives you WILL forget what it was like to be pregnant.


I know as I’ve had three boys and the magic that came with all three pregnancies is now a faded memory.


This is why I am passionate about what I do - to make sure no other family misses out capturing their most precious memories, like I did and still regret to this day.


With a ‘Little Bean Maternity’ experience we celebrate this wondrous journey, making sure every mum-to-be knows just how beautiful she is and will remember this magical feeling forever.


Whether you are visiting the studio for the first, second or even third time, it is not just to take a few photographs but to create new memories while also capturing timeless art. You can then relive each magical adventure over and over again and share it with all the family. 


To give every family welcomed to the studio so much more with every portrait, I have qualified to Associate level with the Master Photographers Association. It took many hours of training with top national and international photographers as well as time to prepare the required written documents but it was worth it to be able to offer my clients the best of everything I learned….and am still learning today. You, as a new mum, also want to know that your precious baby is safe.  To ensure every baby welcomed to the studio is looked after as safely as possible, I have also achieved my Newborn Certification with the Master Photographers Association. Offering every family the best possible service has also been possible through my qualification with the Guild of Newborn and Baby Photographers.


Joshua, Samuel and Elijah are my three boys and they are my world, along with my husband Rob and our dogs Freddie and Aggie. Our boys are typical boys and love football, cricket, Lego-building and taking Freddie and Aggie on outdoor family adventures. As you can imagine, everything is done at a thousand miles an hour and at three thousand decibels and I wouldn’t change it for the world! With a ‘Little Bean Maternity’ experience we celebrate this wondrous journey, making sure every mum-to-be knows just how beautiful she is, and will remember this magical feeling forever.

Celebrating everything about your pregnancy, a Little Bean Maternity Portrait experience is a perfect way to remember it forever. Even before you visit the studio, we join in your journey to parenthood and celebrate with you. Booked for around you 34-36th week of pregnancy, we make sure that every precious detail is captured in your maternity photoshoot so you can treasure it forever. If you have any special momentos you want to bring with you to make your session even more personal then feel free. We will chat through your session in your consultation call before you visit the studio, to make sure your session is exactly what you want.

One

Starting your journey

Babies haven’t always received the memo about their due date! To make sure we don’t miss capturing this awesome time, we like to schedule your maternity photo session for 34-36 weeks. Therefore, it’s best to book as soon as possible after your 20-week scan. This means we can secure a date that works for mum- and dad-to-be. We want to include you both in these precious family portraits.

 

There are a few exciting things that happen even before your visit the studio so the earlier you book, the earlier the excitement can start!

TWO

Your maternity photoshoot

Your relaxed maternity photoshoot will be tailored exactly to you. During your consultation call before your session, we chat through your favourite portraits and make sure we capture every precious detail. 


We will use a variety of poses and lighting as well as beautiful dresses and colours to create stunning portraits. We normally say allow up to 1 hour in the studio.

Three

Your bespoke gallery presentation

At the end of your session I will arrange a gallery presentation appointment at a convenient time for you. This is normally in the viewing room at the studio but can also be via Zoom if that is more convenient for you. I suggest you bring your diary with you to the studio session so we can confirm a date. There are also lots of artwork samples in the studio for you to look at and feel. I will run through all the options with you and you will have a product guide to take away with you.

Here's some of the most
frequently asked questions...

  • When should we book our maternity photoshoot?

    Babies often haven't received the memo about their due date so we want to make sure we leave plenty of time before little one arrives. I can only take a limited number of bookings each week. Therefore, to ensure I capture your maternity portraits in plenty of time and to make sure we can book a time that is suitable for mum and dad (mums may be on maternity leave but dads will still be working so weekends often work better). I suggest you book as soon as you can after your 20 weeks scan. 

  • Do I need to bring anything with me to the session?

    I do have a selection of beautiful dresses available for you to choose from. It is useful if you can bring a plain pair of leggings (black or navy are great) and/or a pair of jeans with you. Some of the dresses we use are sheer dresses, so if you can bring black underwear as well as white/skin coloured underwear, you can change them (in private don't panic) when we change outfits. I will run through all of this at your Zoom consultation call so don't worry!!

  • Is there anything I should do before the photoshoot?

    Not really. Just have a think about the style of portraits you like. Is is the more artistic semi nude portraits or the more fun portraits, or maybe a mixture of the two! Other than that, just look forward to the amazing portraits we are going to capture for you to treasure.

  • Do you include dads in the portraits?

    Absolutely! Dads can often feel a bit 'left out' during pregnancy. They can see mum's bump growing but they don't feel baby move and they don't have that bond that mums do! Let's face it.....how many times have you shouted for dad to feel baby move and by the time he puts his hand on your belly baby has gone quiet!!

  • Do you include siblings in a maternity shoot?

    Yes yes yes!!! Becoming a big brother or sister is such a special time and we want siblings to feel part of the journey too. There are lots of ways to include siblings of all ages and the portraits are always stunning!

  • What should we wear for the maternity shoot?

    I will run through this in more details during your Zoom call before your session. I do have a selection of beautiful dresses available for you to choose from but it is always useful for mum-to-be and dad-to-be to come wearing neutral, unpatterened clothes. Wearing black, white or cream tops and jeans or leggins for mum-to-be works really well. With siblings, if they can wear fairly neutral clothes too (preferably no Peppa Pig or Paw Patrol tops if possible!) that is great. It does look amazing if Dad and son can wear 'matching' outfits. I do have a few mum and daughter collections too, depending on the age of the daughter.

  • How long will the maternity shoot take?

    I know by 34 weeks of pregnancy, mums can get tired very quickly. I nromally say allow about 1 hour for the session. If you need a rest at any time during the session that is absolutely fine....I remember it well!

  • When can we see our gallery?
