I can only take a limited number of bookings each week and often weekends are the best time for a Bathtub Birthday experience. Therefore, to ensure we can get a date that suits you best and is close to little one's Birthday,  I suggest you book at least 2 months in advance. 

It is always useful to have an idea of any themes you may want when you book your session. That way I can make sure I have everything we need in terms of colour schemes. If you want to bring a favourite toy, or maybe even a toy we used in your newborn session, just to show how much little one has grown, that is perfect. 

Do bring a snack for them just in case they get peckish. Also a drink. If they are still having a bottle then do bring one along as that can often settle them down before the session starts. 

Not really. We will chat through little one's routine and work out the best time for the session. I try and time it around nap times....we don't want any tired Birthday boys or girls! Yes definitely! Having family portraits is so precious and a 1st Birthday family portrait is even more so. It reminds you of everything that you've experienced on your family journey so far and everything that lies ahead. 

I will run through this in more details during your Zoom call before your session, but I always suggest wearing neutral, unpatterened clothes. Some of the portraits will be of you all sitting on the floor so I suggest wearing comfortable clothes. Black or white t-shirts and jeans or leggings works really well. If you can try and all colour coordinate, it means the portraits will be timeless. Mums, if you can try and avoid wearing vest tops or low cut tops, it means if we do a pose with you on your tummy you won't be self-conscious about your top gaping down. 

Most of what I mentioned for mum and dad also applies to baby (apart from the low cut top obviously!). If you can try and avoid any highly patterened tops or dresses (if possible no Peppa Pig or Paw Patrol!) that works really well. If you have a special outfit that you've bought for their 1st Birthday then do bring that along. Even if we just use it for a couple of portraits, it is a lovely memory to have.

Of course! Big brothers and sisters have been through a journey of their own throught the last year and we need to celebrate that too. I obviously capture portraits of the siblings together as well as family portraits. I will even try and capture a few portraits of big brother or sister on their own too so they don't feel left out.

No I have plenty of towels here for you to use. Well plenty of towels for the Birthday boy or girl......I'm afraid I can't say the same for mums and dads!

I did used to do cake smashes but I found that generally babies weren't so interested in cakes. I tried a number of different types but most of the time the cakes were more popular with mum and dad as they got to take them home! The splashes afterwards were always the biggest hit and babies always love them and so now I do the portrait session and the bathtub. The portraits are just stunning too!

At the end of your session I will arrange a gallery presentation appointment at a convenient time for you. This is normally in the viewing room at the studio but can also be via Zoom if that is more convenient for you. I suggest you bring your diary with you to the studio session so we can confirm a date. There are also lots of artwork samples in the studio for you to look at and feel. I will run through all the options with you and you will have a product guide to take away with you.
